Felm Nepal is now searching for a Senior Program Manager in Nepal, to be responsible for the project management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Finland funded development cooperation projects.

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for supporting the planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of projects in his own area of responsibility. He/she coordinates the strengthening of the project management capacity together with other experts and monitors the implementation of activities. The expert ensures that the project work meets the quality criteria, guidelines and policies of Felm.
The Senior Program Manager keeps in regular contact with partners, plans project cooperation and coordinates cooperation with other supporters, authorities and stakeholders. He/she is responsible for the up-to-date information related to the projects, evaluates the project administrative capacity of the partners and maintains the risk mapping related to the projects. The expert monitors and directs the implementation of the agreed measures, makes recommendations for measures and is responsible for preparing the regional plan and prepares analyzes to support the regional reports. The position may also include responsibility for training. The expert participates in regional networking and stakeholder cooperation and works actively in the regional team.
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager who is responsible for the project management of the development cooperation implemented in Nepal. The manager is responsible for communicating with partners and monitoring projects, as well as producing information for the monitoring and evaluation needs of the working area.
The supervisor for this position is the country director of Felm Nepal.
Applicants for the position are required to have:
• A suitable Master’s degree
• At least five years of work experience in similar positions
• Commitment to Felm’s identity, strategy and values
• Good PMEL skills, success in the task requires experience in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) program work
• Good financial management skills
• Strong understanding of working with organizations in the Global South
• Good pressure tolerance
• Good ability to analyze risks and act accordingly
• Good analytical skills and the ability to produce high-quality documentation
• Good skills in fundraising, influence work and communication
• Good training and facilitation skills
• Excellent interaction and cooperation skills
• Cultural and religious sensitivity
• Excellent English language skills, working proficiency in Finnish language
• Knowledge of the region’s culture and languages is an advantage.
Start and duration of work
The contract is initially for one year and renewal of which depends on the funding decision of the MFA and signing of the PA.
